New Holland IntelliSteer Reverse Guidance

New Holland's IntelliSteer auto-guidance system now gives producers the ability to engage and acquire a guidance swath while operating a 4WD drive vehicle in reverse.

New Holland's T9 Series tractors will be among the first 4WD tractors in the industry with this capability. Previously, 4WD drive vehicles could only engage guidance swaths when travelling in the forward direction due to the complex geometry associated with articulated machines. The T9's IntelliSteer auto-guidance system now gives operators the ability to engage their guidance swaths when backing up to the edge of a field.

IntelliSteer 4WD reverse auto-guidance will be of particular benefit to operations using mounted implements for vegetable and other high-value crops when headlands are not used. Once engaged, the IntelliSteer system will automatically align the machine with the next swath while backing to the edge of the field. The operator is then ready to immediately shuttle the transmission and drop the implement to begin working the next pass, already engaged and on the appropriate swath. This feature will help operators save time as well as reduce error and fatigue, improving efficiency and productivity.
