Ten Years of TractorData.com

November of 2010 marks TractorData.com's ten-year anniversary. The site began in the 1990s as a Deere "fan" page while I was studying computer science in college. I had grown up at the family John Deere dealership; working and attending shows with my father and grandfather. Most manufacturers did not have web sites at the time, and I began receiving emails for information on more brands. In November of 2000, TractorData.com was created to include all makes of farm tractors.

The site began with only four brands (Allis-Chalmers, Ford, International, and John Deere) and barely 400 tractor models in the database. TractorData now covers 173 brands and 8,000 models of farm, lawn, and industrial tractors. Nearly 20,000 people read TractorData every day from 196 different countries. The tractor database is used by everyone from home owners with lawn tractors to the largest agricultural machinery companies in the world.

TractorData would not be possible without the incredible support of the readers. Whether it is photos, specifications, correcting errors, or words of encouragement, I truly appreciate all the emails and letters. I could not begin to cover this vast number of tractors without that help.
