2009 Pioneer Power Swap Meet

The 2009 Swap Meet for the Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Association was this weekend, April 24 through 26. This year's weather was quite an improvement over last year. Rain, snow, and cold wind gave the 2008 Meet the worst weather in memory, turning the grounds into a mess. Warm sunshine made Friday seem more like a summer day. A large crowd was on-hand by mid-day Friday morning and the parking appeared to be overflowing by noon with long lines of cars parked along the adjacent county roads.

Vendors were on hand of all different shapes and sizes. From companies with huge rigs to people who seemed to have just cleaned out the attic, a wide variety of parts and manuals were available. One visitor commented, "if it isn't here, you don't need it". A handful of complete tractors were for sale, along with others in various states of disassembly. Several other local antique clubs were raffling some well-restored tractors. Vendors reported brisk sales on Friday and there was a constant stream of wagons hauling large purchases back to the parking lot.
