Featured John Deere tractors at the showThis past weekend, May 3 and 4, was the 16th annual field days, swap meet, auction, and toy & craft show for the Greater Minnesota Two-Cylinder Club. The events were held at the Morrison County Fairground in Little Falls, Minnesota. The club has used the fairgrounds for the past several years and it has been an excellent venue. The grounds provide a number of indoor locations for vendors, food, and music along with ample parking and a large grounds for the swap meet.

There were not quite as many tractors on display this year as in past years. An unfavorable weather forecast may have kept some people from bringing their tractors. Fortunately, however, the actual weather for the show was very good. The club had to put up with rain in 2007, but had bright sun this year. In addition to the featured tractors, there were also a number of other John Deere models, plus lawn tractors, snowmobiles, and engines. Demonstrations and restoration seminars were held throughout the weekend.

It was possible to find a wide assortment of tractor parts, manuals and toys along with many crafts and collectibles. The auction was held on Saturday, and lasted all day. There were a number of antique tractors, lawn mowers, snowmobiles, implements, parts, and toys. Two auction rings kept the action moving through the large amount of consignments. Plowing demonstrations were held both days, and the distinctive sound of a diesel two-cylinder filled the air Saturday as a big 830 worked the fields along with other tractors.

The weather was beautiful, and rain early in the week left the track in great condition. Dry without being dusty. In all, it turned out to be a great show this year in Little Falls. Hopefully it is the start of a great summer for tractor shows.
