New Holland exports the TL5000, Its First Range of Western Technology Tractors Made in China
CNH Press Release -From November 6 to 8, 2007, the top management of CNH International Operations, a world leader in the agricultural equipment business and part of the Fiat Group, is holding an export seminar with all its sales & marketing teams from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the CIS, Australia and New Zealand at its Shanghai New Holland plant. New Holland is a brand of CNH. The export seminar, aimed at training the sales force on the features and benefits, as well as on new market opportunities for the new TL5000 tractor range, is further proof of the ongoing CNH commitment to the Chinese and other new markets.
The new family of tractors is manufactured by Shanghai New Holland, the joint venture established in 2002 by New Holland and the SAIC Group (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation - China's largest industrial group), and represents the largest agricultural machinery and equipment company in China up to now, with a total investment of $75 million.
The new range of tractors, launched in May 2007 on the domestic market, is completely built in China and is based on the TL tractors produced in Europe. It has been designed to meet the ever increasing needs of today?s farmers through a productive, reliable and versatile tractor.
The TL5000 is the answer to the growing demand of the Chinese market for more advanced, efficient and highly reliable machinery at an affordable purchasing price for farmers.
After a very successful domestic introduction and positive feedback from customers and dealers all over China, the new TL5000 range is targeting new markets starting November 2007 when it will begin to be exported into international markets in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the CIS. Starting with the TL5000, SNH will become the manufacturing base for CNH global markets and will supply agricultural machinery and equipment to its global customers.
The TL5000 range is made up of three models: the 80, 90, and 100 hp. Models are available with two- and four-wheel drive, cab and platform configurations.
With this new product family, Shanghai New Holland is targeting 15% market share in the 80 to 100 horsepower tractor sector in China, aiming to enlarge the local offerings to fully cover the 50 to 100 horsepower range. In the future, Shanghai New Holland plans to produce 5,000 units per year of the new range, of which 50% will be for export.
The Shanghai New Holland plant, located in the historical STEC site neighbouring Shanghai's city centre, has been certified in line with the ISO 9001: 2000 quality standards since July 2002. In 2003, it was awarded by the Shanghai Municipality as a Model Foreign JV with Advanced Technology.
By the end of 2007, Shanghai New Holland will have produced more than 11,000 units in China, distributed through a network of 130 dealers.
