New Holland recently launched on the Chinese domestic market a new range of tractors completely built in China: the T5600, based on the TL tractors produced in Europe.

The new family is manufactured by Shanghai New Holland, the joint venture New Holland established in 2002 with the SAIC Group (the largest Chinese industrial group).

The T5600 range is made up of three models: 80, 90 and 100 hp, and models are available with two- and four-wheel drive, cab and platform configurations.

The T5600 is the answer to the growing demand of the Chinese market for more advanced, efficient and highly reliable machinery, at an affordable purchasing price for farmers.

The localization project was started in 2005 by a team of local and worldwide New Holland technical staff. The team started a severe testing program seven months before the official start of production. They brought to the field more than 100 units and tested them in all possible working conditions, both in domestic and International markets. Throughout the program, they received the most positive feedback from all the operators and dealers involved.

There is a strong expectation also in the international region markets. The new T5600 will be a powerful weapon to fight tough competition in the tractor segment from 80 to 100 hp starting with the last quarter of the year when we will begin to export into these markets.

With this new product family Shanghai New Holland targets 15% market share in the 80 to 100 hp tractor segment in China, aiming to enlarge the local offerings to fully cover the 50 to 100 hp range.

Shanghai New Holland is planning a future production of 5,000 units per year of the new range, of which 50% will be for export.

In 2007, Shanghai New Holland will produce 13,800 units in China distributed through a network of 130 dealers.
