AGCO introduces HydaMaxx front suspension for high horsepower tractors

AGCO high horsepower DT and RT Series tractors with CVT transmissions are more comfortable to operate, faster and more efficient at transferring power to the ground with the introduction of the HydraMaxx front suspension system. The advanced suspension system eliminates power hop in the field and minimizes wheel slip with the front axle.

"HydraMaxx addresses two concerns of today’s large horsepower tractor buyers…high fuel prices and farms and fields spread out over ever increasing distances," says Todd Stucke, general marketing manager, AGCO tractors. "Reducing slippage and eliminating power hop ensures an operator is getting the most value out of every gallon of fuel by keeping all four wheels on the ground, pulling at all times. With farmers traveling 5, 10, 15 miles or more between farms, transit eats up time that could be spent in the field. With AGCO CVT and HydraMaxx on their DT Series and RT Series tractors, they can travel up to 32 miles per hour, cutting travel time significantly."

The HydraMaxx front axle suspension system uses hydraulic cylinders and nitrogen charged accumulators to take the bounce out of bumps and surface irregularities, whether on the road or in the field. By absorbing bumps, HydraMaxx makes steering smoother and less reactive and maintains steady front wheel/ground contact. On the road, this means less travel time as the tractor can travel at higher speeds than competitive tractors. In the field, it translates into more pulling power and greater fuel efficiency.

"The smoother ride with HydraMaxx also reduces operator fatigue," says Stucke. "That means increased operator efficiency. Increasingly, farmers are treating their tractor cab as a field office, spending 10, 12 or more hours a day in it. They want comfort and ease of use, but not at the expense of fuel efficiency. HydraMaxx gives them what they are looking for."
