Kubota's all-new M series tractors

Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) introduces the all-new M Series with a user friendly Ultra Grand cab and new direct-injection engines, powerful front loaders and a host of ergonomic improvements. The M5040, M6040, M7040, M8540 and M9540 can tackle even the most demanding agriculture applications while providing the operator with exceptional comfort.

More space and visibility make Kubota’s Ultra Grand Cab a great place to work. The length of the cab has been increased by two inches, while width has been increased 6.3 inches. Arched glass on the cab provides the operator with more headroom and improves operator visibility and mobility. The glass coverage has been increased to widen the cab door, making entering and exiting the cab easier. The M Series cab comes equipped with a pantograph front wiper, resulting in a wider coverage area for rainy day visibility.

The M Series models have Kubota’s next-generation center-direct injected diesel engines (E-CDIS) with easy-to-shift 4WD engagement. The engine offers more durability, power and fuel efficiency while meeting EPA Tier II emissions standards. The M5040 is equipped with a V3007-DI, 3.1-liter engine delivering 45 PTO horsepower (hp). Both the M6040 and M7040 come standard with a V3307-DI, 3.3-liter engine, with the M6040 produces 55 PTO hp and theM7040 producing 62 PTO hp. Engineered to generate vigorous pulling power with ease, the 3.8-liter, V3800DI-T turbo charged diesel engine comes standard on both the M8540 and M9540 tractors, delivering 75 PTO HP for the M8540 and 84 PTO HP for the M9540.

Maximum performance and smoother operation is achieved from Kubota’s highly engineered transmissions equipped with eight forward and eight reverse speeds. The main shift allows the operator to shift “on the fly” making operation smooth. For heavy-duty work, the hydraulic shuttle models of the M8540 and M9540 can be equipped with an optional F12/R12 transmission, providing 12 forward and 12 reverse speeds. Shifting between forward and reverse is seamless and smooth with Kubota’s new M Series hydraulic shuttle. A column-mounted lever with left-hand operation makes shifting easy, eliminating the need to depress the clutch when directional change is needed.

The M Series is equipped with many features that allow the operator to maneuver the tractor with ease. The bevel-gear front axle features a 55-degree turning radius on the top three models, enabling the M Series to turn tighter than ever before.

The Kubota M5040, M6040 and M7040 now utilizes the new LA1153 loader, while the M8540 and M9540 will utilize the new LA1353 loader. The LA1153 features a skid steer type quick coupler, and with the bucket flat can be raised to a 10-foot height and over 11 feet to the pivot point. Plus, the roundback-designed bucket features 43-degree rollback angle and up to 60-degree dump angle. The LA1353 also features the skid steer quick coupler as standard and can be raised over 11 feet with the bucket flat and over 12 feet to the pivot point; rollback angle is 40-degrees, while dump angle is up to 60 degrees. A hydraulic self-leveling feature is optional, as is KSR – Kubota Shockless Ride – a feature which provides a cushioning effect under heavy loads. Lift capacity for the LA1153 is 2,536 lbs. and 2,977 lbs. for the LA1353. Both loaders feature two-position lift cylinder adjustments for the power position and height position as well as four-bar linkage for additional bucket rotation.

The M Series has been redesigned to provide the operator with an ergonomically smart control console. All operating controls and switches are within easy reach on the operator’s right-hand side. A new, digital LCD panel informs the operator of precise travel speed and PTO rpm. Additionally, the exhaust pipe is on the cab’s right side corner-post for an unobstructed field of view. The operator will ride in comfort with the deluxe weight-adjusted seat, designed especially to absorb shock and reduce operator fatigue. The cab also provides year-round operator comfort in any condition with the powerful air conditioner and heating system.
