Massey Ferguson adds MF 431 to the MF 400 series tractors
AGCO Corporation -The MF 431, a new 44 hp economy utility tractor from Massey Ferguson, is designed to meet the full-size tractor needs of part-time and limited acreage farmers. Engineered to the same high standards as larger Massey Ferguson tractors, the MF 431 is a chore and field tractor, and a new addition to the MF 400 Series. It joins six other models with the proven technology of the 400 Series.
"The MF 431 is a true full-size utility tractor and the best value in the industry," says Denis Alizé, general marketing manager, Massey Ferguson. "It has all the basic features and characteristics of our larger horsepower tractors, without the cost. We used the proven technology of the 400 Series to provide the superior lugging power and rugged dependability that farmers depend upon."
The 1103C-33 Perkins engine with Fastram piston design is Tier II emission-compliant and fuel-efficient. The 3-cylinder, natural aspirated power plant produces 44 PTO horsepower at 2,200 rpm. The rock-solid 8 forward x 2 reverse transmission efficiently transfers that power to the drive wheels. The center shift levers are placed for easy access and smooth shifting.
Like all Massey Ferguson tractors, the MF 431 is equipped with the Ferguson 3-point hitch, the industry leader in accurate and precise control of rear-mounted implements, blades and other tools. Standard telescopic stabilizers make implement attachment easier and safer. Lift capacity is just over 2,000 pounds.
"The MF 431 is engineered for reliability with a design that makes it easy to service and maintain," says Alizé. "The front grill drops away for easy access to engine air filter, front lights and the low-maintenance battery. Hood side panels are removable for easy engine access, and the automotive design fuse box and fuses are within easy reach for quick servicing."
Other big tractor style standard features include a foot pedal engaged rear differential lock, a rear work light and foldable ROPS frame for enhanced maneuverability in low clearance situations. The rear mounted, seven-pin ASAE socket enables easy hookup of lights on trailed implements. The MF 431 also is equipped with an easy to read dash with LCD display of PTO speed, engine operating hours, and an analog tachometer.
The hydraulic system is equally full-sized with Ferguson and gear type pumps producing a maximum total flow of 18.5 gpm. The two optional remotes are rated at a maximum flow of 8.4 gpm.
