Troy-Bilt is the brand name for a line of gardening tools built first by Garden Way, now by MTD. WATCO, a Troy, New York company sold parts for the Rototiller line. In 1967 WATCO created the Troy-Bilt name for a new tiller line and in 1968, WATCO changed its name to Garden Way. When Garden Way entered banktruptcy in 2001, MTD acquired the Troy-Bilt brand.
