Homelite branded snowmobiles were sold for two seasons beginning in 1968. Both Polaris and Homelite were divisions of Textron at the time. The Homelite snowmobiles were manufactured in Polaris' Winnipeg factory. In 1970 Textron decided it did not make sense to have Homelite and Polaris compete with each other and Homelite dealers were given the opportunity to sell Polaris for the 1971 season.
