The original Simplicity Packer Backer tractor was sold in the fall of 1997, following the Green Bay Packers 1996 Super Bowl season. The tractor was a 1997 model-year Simplicity Regent 14H with the colors and logo of the NFL's Green Bay Packers football team. The success of this limited-edition model led Simplicity to build a line of NFL and NCAA team-branded tractors in 1997.
