The UTI was the industrial version of the Minneapolis-Moline U. Several versions were built. The UTIL offered a six-speed shuttle. The UTIL-D used a diesel engine and was built from 1953 to 1959. The UTIL-M was for the US military and only built in 1953. The UMIL variant used a 340B-4 engine.
