Steiger Industrial tractors

Steiger tractorThe Steiger Tractor Company built large four-wheel drive tractors in the US Midwest. Steiger started in 1957 when John Steiger built a tractor in their dairy barn. By 1969, 126 tractors had been built on the farm when Steiger incorporated and moved into a new factory in Fargo, North Dakota. Steiger grew steadily until the early 1980s, when a struggling farm economy forced the company into bankruptcy. In 1986, Steiger was purchased by Tenneco, the parent of Case-International. Steiger built tractors under both brands until 1990 when the green Steiger tractors were dropped. Today, Case IH uses the Steiger name on its large four-wheel drive and Quadtrack tractors.
