SOMECA (La Societe de Mecanique de la Seine) was a subsidiary of French carmaker SIMCA. SOMECA started in the 1950s with a take-over of MAP and its two-stroke diesel engine. Fiat was a majority owner of SOMECA and he model line was integrated with Fiat in the 1960s. SOMECA disappeared as a separate marque in 1983 when it was fully absorbed into FiatAgri.
