Happy Farmer started producing tractors in Minneapolis in 1916. The company was soon reorganized with as the La Crosse Tractor Company by merging Happy Farmer and the Sta-Rite Engine Company and continued to build Happy Farmer brand tractors until 1921. Oshkosh Tractor made plans to purchase and move production, but the deal was not finalized and Happy Farmer ceased production.
