Questions
I am sending this to suggest that the information for the John Deere 855 may be improved by observing what I believe is a notable change across the model years. My dad bought an 855 in 1986 and I'm coming to learn 855 had substantial changes in 1989 with the introduction of the 955. - Wheel base lengthened - Implement compatibility change, e.g. the 52 FEL fits the earlier years, the 70A fits the latter. I believe the 70 may also fit the earlier years.

I am looking at all four editions of the 855 operator's manual, covering every year it was built: they all list a 64 inch wheelbase. The parts manual does show a frame change on the 855, but it is never the same as the 755. The model 52 loader could go on either the 755 or 855, but the brackets are different in the parts manual. Of course, it pre-dates the late 855 so there are no notations on that. Checking the dealer's sales manuals for the era, the 70A was always listed for the 855 and the 70 was always for the 755. There is no mention of mounting brackets to put the 70 on an early 855. The technical manual notes the battery and fuel tank locations were switched, and the fuel pump was changed from electric to mechanical. I'm not seeing anything to support the idea that the tractor is a different size or has different loader compatibility.
