Peter Simpson's Ultimate Tractor Power: Articulated tractors of the world series covers nearly every manufacturer of large articulated four-wheel drive tractors. The Ultimate Tractor Power series is split across two volumes separated alphabetically (A-L in Volume 1, M-Z in Volume 2), although Volume 2 does begin with some additional information on a few models from the first book. At the close of Volume 2 are examples of original sales literature. The books cover large, articulated tractors so machines like the "crab-steer" Case tractors and the International 4300 are not covered. The books are organized by manufacturer and then tractor series, making it easy to find a particular model. Each company is described and and tables are provided with data on the various tractor models. Typical data includes the years the tractor was built, engine information, transmission, and weight. Photographs fill the pages, a mix of current, historical, and advertising images. The books are unique in providing equal coverage to manufacturers from Eastern Europe, Australia, and Africa. Even limited production and experimental articulated tractors are covered in this comprehensive set. The Ultimate Tractor Power series are the authoritative books on large articulated tractors. Covering manufacturers from around the world and models from the earliest prototypes to the latest tractors (at the time of publication), there is almost nothing about these large machines that is not covered. Disclosure: TractorData LLC was provided with a review copy of the Ultimate Tractor Power books. |
