Briggs & Stratton builds small engines for a variety of power equipment. The company was formed in 1908, in Wisconsin, and had great success with the rise in consumer power equipment after World War 2. In 2005, Briggs & Stratton purchased Simplicity, providing it with the Simplicy and Snapper lawn mower lines. Around this time, Briggs and Stratton also acquired the rights to the Murray brand.
